Hey there, I'm Richard of Doomed Moviethon and this is my blog dedicated to horror and cult movies. Horror-tinged television, books, music, comic books, manga and more will also be examined and picked at (and only occasionally violated) right here. Thanks a bunch for stopping by, y'all.
YES! That movie was, like, my horror puberty in a VHS tape.
ReplyDeleteIt's when everything changed forever.
ReplyDeleteMAGIC AS MOVING PICTURES!
ReplyDelete(Although I think there is just too bloody much missing in the r-rated cut. :-( Once you go 116 minute cut you.. uuh.. never go 82 minute cut.)

Michael.
That film (on VHS) certainly showed up in offbeat places - like my local store. It was the first Argento film I ever saw.
ReplyDeleteMaggots, metal, chimps and Ms. Connelly - it all made perfect sense to our pre-pubescent eyes.
@R.Geiger - I'm sure you're right. My main goal is to try and see it through the eyes of my younger self. Hmm, that's probably illegal.
ReplyDelete@Michael - I will check it out!
@Davo - I know you know where I'm coming from, homie.
Looking forward to it..it's always interesting to read about different versions. Hell it's interesting to read about Phenomena ..period!

Awesome film. I still think Suspiria is his masterpiece though.
ReplyDeleteGood post. Brought back memories.
